Are they controlled by driveshaft censor or GPS or something else. The reason I ask is when switching to a different sized wheel, will the car adjust, or will both speedo and odometer be off by the equal amount to the circumference difference from stock wheels?
The overall diameter of a 19" wheel/tire package is the same as that of a 20", 21" and 22" package. There is nothing for the car to adjust to. Also, wheel diameter has nothing to do with tire diameter as offered by the manufacturer. As mentioned, the overall height is the same.
Yes I understand that they are overall close in diameter, but not precise. I’m actually more interested in if I were to move up to bigger than stock options. I’ve seen some 24” giavanna bogota wheels on the car and I thought they looked excellent. I’m considering increasing overall wheel and tire diameter to keep with a little extra sidewall.
I understood your question and that is why I told you about the pathfinder software. I dont know what year your vehicle is but if it is 2017-2019 you will only be able to do it this way. If you have an earlier model than there are a couple other options. Not many people go beyond the stock 22"
Usually when you increase the tire size 19,20,21,22 the height of the tire will be reduced{less sidewall) leaving you with just about the same circumference. Unless you are doing lift kits and serious alterations you are going to have a problem.
2006 to 2016 i've used SDD which I believe is the same software as above. Pathfinder is the new hardware for 2017 and up, I think...
