Is the rear diff different in the 2016 than older models? Seems this was an issue till the 2016s.

Update - mine was a faulty seal as well. They said its about a $10 part, but 6-8 hours to remove exhaust system to access. Was in the shop for 4 days for a variety of reasons. Seems fine now, all covered under warranty.

Funny that: mine (MY15) went in for its 4th year service on Tuesday, and on a whim I told them the rear diff pinion seal is leaking although I had no evidence of this.

Yesterday I get a call to inform me that this is indeed the case and they had to order the parts from overseas as there are none in ZA

My advice: if your vehicle is nearing the end of the service plan, ask them to check all sorts of things that may eventually break.

I am hoping to get mine back today after a week in the shop. The length mainly due to having to order the parts and taking her in on a Friday afternoon/weekend. The dealer gave me a discovery sport to drive around and man this thing sucks....like I said I hope to get her back in a couple hours.
