Charging option for RR400e- need update

Hi everybody with hybrid RR. I have a RR400e from January 2019 and no happy with charging capabilities and options offered by RR. Problem begins after consuming electric power(arrives below 2%). Recovery of braking or slowing down is not sufficient to help.
I need a software button to set my minumum EV level(must be at least 8% on Sport mode).
I need a charge button to fill battery by petrol motor on the rood driving. SAVE buton is not enough because to save a level, you must have this value charged by cable before. But on the long journey you can need a supplementary charge to use on next city to drive only electric. I see that, RR400e recharges by the petrol engine on the long journey, but that is set a very low level by the producer (2-3% of capacity). If you make two or three passing consecutive on the way, you remain without any electric power(0%). This capacity must be modified by the software of the RR as soon as possible, must be free to set value by user. Because I think, most of buyer of this car, preferred this car because of the capability of good acceleration with 2L motor+electric, not to make of economy for 1 Euro/charge.

If someone have any helpful information about these please share with us.

Re: Charging option for RR400e- need update

RROZER, Your post has quite a few concerns and "needs". Let me outline what actually happens before any vehicle reaches the buyer, and perhaps it will and a few of your questions.

When a P400 model is shipped the battery is only charged enough to be placed on the ship and driven off the ship at Port. Then when the Port tasks are completed it still has enough charge to be loaded on train or truck for delivery to distribution yards for the final delivery to the dealer for PDI. This is true of all other hybrid vehicles as well. In addition petrol and diesel models are only shipped with a few gallons of fuel for the same process.

When the dealer finally accepts delivery, each vehicle goes through a Pre-Delivery Inspection/PDI to ensure that fluids are properly filled, all port tasks were handled and ensure no damage has happened during shipping. The the vehicles are washed from any dust that has settled on them during shipping. Petrol and Diesel models are parked out back if they are special order. All others are photographed for advertising then placed on the lot.

Hybrid models, like the the P400 get placed on the charging stations that each dealer has to fully charge them. This is an added step to the PDI. For Land Rover products port tasks and PDI items are outlined by corporate and "should" be followed by the individual franchise dealers in each regional sales market.

Naturally there is the human element involved is shipping anything. Something may be missed and on very very rare occasions minor damage may happen during transport. If damage is discovered during the PDI the dealer's manager will decide how to handle the damage. If it is interior damage the pieces will simply be replaced. If is a very minor scuff be handled by the dealer's shop person best trained in paint care. If a panel is actually damaged a new panel will be ordered and the vehicle will visit a specialised body shop that caters only to high end cars in that market. The repair will carry the same warranty as if it had never happened.

As far as your demands... if you personally feel something needs to change contact the corporate offices in your region and calmly and diplomatically describe the changes you would like to see and why the present platform does meet your needs. They might have suggestions on how the current platform can meet your needs.

If they don't respond or you do not like the suggestion they make, Call them back and ask how to file a formal complaint and receive a case number. Just make sure that you have done your homework on the issues you think you think you have prior to filing a formal complaint.

Dear RRToadHall, I think you didn't understand what is my problem. May be my english is not enough to explain. My car have more than 10000 km on board. I didn't have any problem with delivery or delivery processes. I don't have enough battery power on long journeys and I hope RR will make a software update to help this problem(I tried to explain in my thread above). Some plug in hybrid cars have their CHARGE button to charge their batteries while driving. My RR-L405 LWB-p400e do not have. May be there is other way to resolve this problem but I didn't discover yet.

You are right. But Land Rover stated they wanted a less aggressive regenerative braking and therefore recharging... Thing is, even on my Segway ES4 scooter, there are 3 settings for energy recovery level: weak, medium and strong. And there definitely should be a charge while driving button! Probably they didn’t offer it because the fuel consumption would jump up…

Re: Charging option for RR400e- need update

thank you for this post, this is the reason why i'm not completely sold on the P400e
The torque which is close to the V8 is interesting,
i had a lot of hybrid/ electric cars from Prius, to a 2016 Lexus RX450h F sport( still have this), and a purely electric 2013 RAV4 EV ( electric motor /batttery is from TESLA) compliance vehicle here in California.

i might end up with the SC as originally planned.

thanks for the post, i completely understand your pain

or performance will suffer, which is sort of bad when you have a (however angry) 4 banger.
