    Angry Programming Garage Door Issues

I have two Genie garage door openers. I have tried to follow the manual but this does not seem to work. I reset the entire system by holding the 1st and 3rd buttons. Then I hold one button down while holding a transmitter within 2" of the mirror. I do this until the light changes its flashing. I then push the learn button on the garage door opener which starts the red light flashing on the opener in the garage. I then get to my car and hold down the button until I get sick of it lol. Nothing happens. What did I miss?

...same thing happened to me with two NICE gate openers, while it has been perfect with the HORMANN door. So I bought two receivers from the HomeLink website and installed on the two NICE, problem solved.

I just had to reprogram my Genie Intellicode this past weekend. I think you are good up to the last step. After you press the learn button on the opener, return to the vehicle and instead of holding down the button, press the desired button three times holding it for a second or so each time. I believe the first push stores the code in the opener, the second push confirms the code and the third push should operate the opener.

Thanks for the info. I was having the same difficulties and was finally able to get the Genie to work with my 2012 RRS. Here's what I did:
    1) Cleared old programming in Rover by turning on the Rover - but not starting. To clear, hold down 2 outside buttons on homelink mirror for about 20-30 seconds until light flashes.
    2) First part of programming - held remote garage door opener 2" from mirror and simultaneously pushed the the button on the remote and the selected button on mirror and held pressed in until light on mirror flashed. (leave rover on)
    3) Second part of programming - pushed learn button on the actual garage door opener - and quickly returned to Rover. As stated above, pushed selected button on mirror for about 1 second, 3 times.
    Voila!

it helps to have one person do the and one person on the learn button.

Get the directions straight from the source they haven't changed in years.
