The Lake Lahontan Expedition Video
Exploring Nevada's Ice Age Lake: A 60 minute DVD in which Rovers Meet the Ice Age!

dvd cover picAs the world emerged from the last ice age some 13,000 years ago, a vast body of water, centered on the remote Carson Sink, covered much of Nevada. This is the story of an expedition to explore the evidence left by the receding lake (known as Lake Lahontan), and the people who have lived around its former shores since the earliest human settlements in America.

The extensively researched Land Rover  4WD expedition brings history to life from the ice age to the present, giving visitors to Nevada a whole new perspective on the state’s past. It explores and documents many fascinating geological, archaeological and historical remains, visiting many little known and very remote sites and discovering some new ones. It enables us to relive the experience of dwelling around the remote shores of the lake, far from modern highways and cities.

Vehicles include a Range Rover, a Discovery, and two Series Land Rovers, and the cast includes two amateur geologists and a professional anthropologist-in-training. Spectacular desert scenery and a high-spirited team complete the mix.

(For more pictures and information on the Expedition, see the Lake Lahontan Expedition pages).
