RC44IPOD Description and Installation

The photo at the top of this page shows the first Official Land Rover attempt acknowledging the 21st century advances in audio entertainment. Introduced six or seven years after the introduction of the instantly popular iPod, this accessory finally provided an alternative to the aftermarket solutions that had dominated the market to date. However it was only compatible with the 2007 and later models of Range Rover, so owners of earlier models were still left out in the cold .

The official audio connectivity kit allows you to connect an iPod, MP3 player, USB memory stick, or other personal music player to the Range Rover sound system. It provides control of iPod track and volume controls via steering wheel controls. It charges the iPod while connected, and is compatible with the following iPods (as of December 2009):

iPod Touch
iPhone
iPod Nano (generations 1, 2, & 3)
iPod Video (30, 60, & 80 gigabyte)
iPod Classic

If you have experience with installing or using this kit please email me so we can share your experience with other owners!
