An altimeter can be useful as an aid to navigation as well as a simple reminder of height above sea level and an indicator of air pressure. In both of my Range Rovers to date I have installed simple aftermarket altimeters on the dash. The photo at right shows my present setup in the 4.0SE with the altimeter glued to the wood trim to the left of the steering wheel.
