My '11 Sport has a valet fuction on the home screen, but I have no idea of what it does, and the owners manel does not mention it. It seems only to turn off the audio and lock the screen, but does it do anything else?

I was told it also locks the glove compartment , havent tried it yet. I'm sure you read that if you forget your password It can only be reset by the dealer.

I was told the same thing by the salesman, however, it does not work like what i was told. What it does is actually lock the monitor, sound system, and the tailgate. Hope this could answer your question...
This is yanked from the 2011 Owner's Manual posted on the owner info web site. FWIW, the shop manual of the same model year says the Valet function inhibits access to the touchscreen... and the glove box.

it doesnt lock the glove box, only the tailgate, which is kind of pointless seeing how you can reach in from the back seat. there is no way to lock the glove box as far as i can tell.
