Steering wheel/column noise at operating temp

Not sure if this is the same issue previously discussed, so I figured I would run it by you guys as my warranty expires next week. Recently, a low-level whining noise has begun to emanate from my steering wheel/column - inside the cabin. This ONLY happens once the Sport has warmed up (normal operating temp). When first started and driven - no noise, but once warmed up the noise begins when turning the wheel (standing or driving).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

First, any more pets we don't know about?

Check your P/S fluid level first. If thats OK then there's the odd chance the system has some air in it (was the P/S fluid just changed or any work done on the system?)...or possibly the P/S pump is on the fritz.

Space isn't remote at all. It's only an hour's drive away if your car could go straight upwards.

All of those, plus PAS fluid may be contaminated. A couple of old TSBs that may be applicable to your 2006, depending on VIN:

Thanks guys - checked the PS fluid level and appears fine - appt. next week, 5 days before warranty expires. Will print out the tech bulletins and mention to the advisor (thanks Umbertob).

And, as far as I know, my 86lb Doberman hasn't been up front or in the engine compartment

As my VIN was within the LTB00111 range and symptoms paralleled those I identified, I printed it out and simply mentioned it to the service advisor...bingo! Thanks again for posting Umertob, problem resolved! (Adviser mentioned the remedy was the one cited in this bulletin).

    Best,
