What are biggest tires i can fit on a stock 1993 LWB?????

Please excuse my inexperience.

I have a 93 LWB with oem spring conversion.

What size are are the oem tires on a 93 LWB? (i am lazy and dont have my manual with me)
and
what are the biggest tires that i can fit on the stock truck without "rub."

I may consider a 2" body lift if needed. Any recommendations or concerns with any of the above?

I am looking at tires, but dont know what tires fit which rim sizes, or how to read all that stuff. If anyone could give me a basic lesson on how to read tire/wheel/rim sizes, and what works with what.

Don't know about the largest tire size you can run, but maybe this will help...
Tire sizes have 3 numbers, the first being the tread width in millimeters. The second is the "aspect ratio", a number which represents the heigth of the tire from the rim to the tread as a percentage of the tread width. The third is the rim diameter in inches. Thus, an oem tire with a number of 205/80/16 means you have a 16" rim with a tire of 20.5cm. and a heigth of 16.4 cm. (205 mm X 80 %)
We run 225/75/16 Yokohama Geolandar AT+2's on our '89 so we have a tread widh of 22.5 cm., an aspect ratio of 16.875 cm. (225 X 75%) and a rim size of 16". I'll spare you the goemetry lesson, but this means that our tires are a little less than 2% larger circumference than oem.

If you do not want to cut guards, the biggest you will fit on are 235/85/16's on stock rims. You will need a 1 inch body lift, but that is all. If you go any wider or larger, you will need to start cutting panels.

I run 265/75 MTR's with no body rub and yes I do go off road, but I would not fit anything larger than that as I am squeezing on articualation.

I have put 235/85's on mine, but have not had the privledge of actually driving with them -- I only know that they do actually fit nicely in with the standard springs. I will be putting a 2" lift on before driving with them.

245/75's maximum I would be on a stock height Range Rover. 225's fit stock and are acceptable with a 2" lift.

I fitted 235/70/16 Insa Turbo Traction Tracks to mine, tried to then fit the same tyres in a 235/85/16 size that my mate fitted on his Discovery (with arch trimming to his) and there was no chance of them fitting my 1994 RRC! So I would say anything with a great rolling radius than mine would not fit.

245/70R16 works perfectly for me, obviously you need to adjust the steering stops, but that's it.

so using that as a baseline, 255/85/16 = 2" body lift? with minor trimming being held as a potential hazard?

The problem with 255/85/16 are the guards. If you use standard rims they will rub on the inside of the wheel arches, if you use offset rims they will rub on the outside. I was able to fit 255's on the rear of the Rangie on standard rims without mods, but had to lower the bump stops by 1 inch. But the front would hit on the rear of the wheel arch. So 235/85/16's are the largest you can fit and still have wheel articulation.
