i own an 88 classic and am getting a clunking noise in the rear...if i am at speed and let off on the gas and then give it gas sometimes i get the clunk...
i just replaced the ball joint and have u joints in hand...
i am about to drive the thing 1000 miles and wonder if putting in the u joints will even effect it...it seems to be coming from the rear...i was hoping the ball joint would be the problem...
i might also add that i just put an old man emu medium spring "lift" on it...and it seems to have started the problem...
can u joints be a remedy? i have a few days until i leave and getting them in is no problem...
i just hear so many different comments on this...
so new shocks and new springs, new ball joint, and removed the self leveling unit, still getting the clunk...everything has been greased and lubed...
i just dont want to eff anything up...
any direction or advice would be appreciated!
