    90 RRC dash

Guys, what should ther voltage be on the White with Slate wire from the back of the alternator? #142 on the schematics. I've got seven volts and none of my gauges work. Speedo has been flaky since day one but since the alternator change the Tach, fuel gauge and temp are all worthless. Should this be a regulated twelve volts?

Made some progress today. I took out the new alternator as the battery light started shining. The fresh new POS only lasted a couple months. I put the old one back in, bad bearing and all and now I have tachometer again. Beyond that I dug into the binnacle and found a loose connection on the blue wire for the speedo being loose. 20 years ago the dealer wanted $2500 to repair that speedo and finally , while driving, I found that loose wire! I think the screw has backed off enough over the years to make it noticable.

In addition, I came across the ORIGINAL alternator from 1990 on the shelf so I think I'll take that down to a rebuilder so it'll be availble when the wonderful Magneti Marrelli second alternator finally stops grinding.
