What did you do to your Classic today?

I installed my refurbished radio, as well as some illuminated window and sunroof switches. The radio received an AUX jack, all new LEDs, green filters, switches, and had its control board refreshed.

That looks great! How much of the front end did you have to take out to fit the cam? Where did you send the heads to? What was the cost?

I'm doing the head gasket, or trying to as the intake manifold is still stubbornly attached to the engine... Sigh

Thanks! It's the same radio that came with my '92, just had it repaired at GB4x4Radios (Roverville).

This weekend I got the oil and coolant changed and pulled my carpets to scrub them down.
I also cut the bolts off the rusty brush guard and am deciding what I want to do with it. It actually has pretty nice hella lights so I might hit it with some paint and put it back on.

Had to remove the radiator and ac condenser. I brought the heads to a local machine shop here in Orlando, it cost me 500 bucks but I had him clean and fix a few things on the intake manifold and front cover as well. It's a big job take lots of pics before you take apart and bagging and tagging your hardware will make the job go much easier.

Installed a PCV tune up kit to help with a burning oil smell. Hoses were not clogged and no filter present (flame trap instead), so I am doubtful this will do the trick.

That's not too bad and will give me an excuse to replace more stuff while I'm at it

Leaking steering pump replacement job 50% done. The replacement part I received from buyautoparts has the outlet on the wrong side, so I have to get another from Napa.

I'm not sure why the manual says to remove the pump bracket bolts. I did, it sucked. When I got it off, I realize there really is no reason that I can see for removing it. The install should go much quicker with that info. I also did not remove the fan.

Finished up the steering pump job. No leaks. Yay. May even turn easier now which I guess makes sense. Fiddly and time consuming for me personally.
