Argyle219 - What size tires are those?

Crash1121 - Also, what size tires are those?

I need new tires this Spring and I'm bouncing between two sizes...

They are 235/85/16 but I had 245/75/16 before. I think the new ones fill out the wheel wells nicely but I also put on a 2 inch Terra Firma lift.

I feel a little silly admitting this, but I admire your wheel gap.

Mine are pizza cutters215/85R16 (30.4"). They're 1.5" taller than the factory 205/80R16s (28.9"), and there's zero rubbing at full wheel articulation on stock suspension. Love the way these lookthey retain the factory look while giving me a good bit extra sidewall. Also have to add that they perform exceptionally well on rocky terrain when aired down.

Have you noticed any centrifugal power drain or, significant changes in handling characteristics? Love the look! Thanks, Chris

Much appreciated! I didn't notice much of a power drain (maybe a little), but it does roll a bit more in the corners. Considering that this isn't a canyon carving hot rod, it never really concerned me. However, this does keep me persistent on ensuring that my suspension bushings are healthy.

Thanks for posting your tire sizes guys!

I'm between 225/75 and 215/85 for my EAS equipped LWB. I really like the 215's but there is one big drawback - most of our local roads post a strictly-enforced 50mph speed limit, right where the torque converter locks up. With 215's the converter is constantly dropping in and out. Conversely, with 225's the speedo under-reports so 53-54mph is actually 50mph and the converter stays engaged. I know this from years with our D1 on 245/75's. Its a seemingly small issue, but this accounts for 90% of my local driving.

don't do it, the small zf transmission does not like being abused in such manner (heavy continuos loads generated when pushing plus the weight of the plow).

    Today, I gave it a much-needed bath.

    @Tom109
Ah, I can see that being bothersome. With the 215/85s, it engages when the speedo hits 51mph and disengages once it dips below 48mph. I'd say manually select 3rd, but the RPMs might sit a little higher than you wish...

I adjusted the driver's door latch rod. Lately, half of the time the latch has not been releasing/partially releasing when trying to open the door, so I finally went in and took care of it. Super easy job!

Successfully pryed the door panel off without cracking the wood:

Carefully peel plastic near the upper and bottom openings on the edge of the door, so it can be resealed once everything is adjusted:

    Opening behind door latch:

All you need to do is disconnect the metal clip that holds the far left latch rod in place, then twist it clockwise a couple of times, and then your latch will be tight like when it was new. It's easier to spin the rod from the larger opening near the bottom of the door:

Then engage the rod and reconnect the metal clip, open/close the door to test the adjusted door latch, and reassemble.

Topped off the brake fluid & sponginess all gone. Level was close too the minimum, but what a difference it made...
