this may be a MAF [or its wiring] problem, when a backfire (when running lpg, long time ago now) blew the intake off the plenum, this is what started to showed up on the MPG display, it continued to increase and increase to stupid levels before i could stop and reconnected the intake, other than the loud bang nothing untoward showed up, except this continued rise in MPG. Presumably because the distance was still going up and although the MAF was still [electrically at least] running the airflow through it effectively was nothing.

Re: Ticking noise after oil change.

So the Ticking has stopped on its own. For a month I had to rent Zipcars to get along with my daily dues, but I would start it here and there a couple times. Then after a while the ticking began to disappear. I drove it slowly around a neighborhood and noticed it was finally gone. Now I have been driving it, but short trips and not pushing it. On Monday I'm taking it back to the mechanic to get that checked out and the Cylinder 6 Misfire. I also had O2 Sensor codes, so i figured I'd buy them on eBay. All I know is that there are four. Can anyone tell me the ones I need. I want to replace ALL of them. I'm also buying the MAF Sensor and new set of original shocks. Should I get anything else? Any recommendations?

The ticking issue has been on my mind for a couple of years. I have the ticking but not as bad as the above video. I have never taken apart the top end of a motor but I have done EAS valve block rebuild(s), Transfer Case Chain, O-rings, and a bunch of other relatively easy repairs. Take a listen and see if this is an example of a lifter tick...I think there may be a couple of lifters making noise. This is on the drivers side of the engine (NAS) middle cylinders best I can tell. I have contacted Martin for an engine rebuild but that is not in the cards right now..so I'm thinking I will redo the lifters this spring..along with heated seat repair, rear view mirror mod, etc..so do you guys think this is my lifters or something else..

Not trying to hijack..if I need to start a new thread I will..

    Thanks

Could well be a lifter making that noise mate.
Remove the valve cover on that side and start it up. Put a finger on the middle cylinders rockers and see if that quietens it down.
