    The Saga

Ok where to start. I have owned my P38 for one year todayand have spent most of the time fixing it as it was not running when it wasgiven to me.
I replaced the BECEM with a good refurbished second hand onethanks to a nice chap in the UK who can reprogram them. New starter, new cranksensor and full tune up with new fluids and plugs.
After this I drove it for a few weeks and the fan explodedtaking the radiator and shroud out at the same time. New radiator & hosesetc fixed this problem.
Change the original wheel s for those from a 05. Would I recommendit. No!
Now I have six Items to fix on my list:
    1) Suspension: bags are new but I still have a bigproblem with the infamous Christmas tree on the dash. No matter what I do I cannotseem to fix the issue.
    2) Fuel level sender does not work: just finished removingthe fuel tank and will replace the whole part.
    3) I keep on getting a message that the passengerdoor is open. I most probably have to replace one of the outstations but which one?
    4) Need to replace the A/C condenser as it leaks.
    5) I need to wash it.
    6) Need to replace the original radio as it doesnot work at all.

    Re: The Saga

The EAS will need to be reset using either the free software or Faultmate etc. If it's in hard fault you can replace every component with brand new ones and it still wont work.
The passenger door open message is due to the actuator. You can either replace it or cut 1 wire to make it thinks its closed all the time. Purple wire IIRC.
A used radio is the easiest way to sort the stereo out. Shoot Scotty a PM with a list of stuff you need.

My RR came with these later wheels, they are working out fine for me and I've not have any problems. What don't you like about them?

Thanks to both for the reply. Ok I am all for cutting the wire what is my best option? Remove the door card etc? As to the wheels they are nice and wrok well but i neede to machine them slightly to fit correctly. For some reason the nuts that I got were just slightly too large.

    Roland,
Pull the door card and see the wires from the actuator. Just be sure it IS the purple wire. If so, then snip is and isolate the ends from shorting out etc.
What codes are you getting with the software from the EAS mate?

    Re: The Saga

    Hi Martin,

The EASsoftware is giving me no codes I can read all the heights etc. so I know it isworking but I still have the Christmas tree on the center console but no hardfault and if I press the button the car will go up and down no issues. Thissystems is really starting to frustrate me, what do you think about removingand cleaning each height sensor.

    Thanks,

    Roland

    Re: The Saga

If the system is showing no faults at all, no need to clean anything IMO. If it aint broke, dont fix it etc
So the EAS is acting perfectly normal, and works as designed, but you still have all the lights lit up on the up n down rocker switch? Does it still lower itself at @55mph, then raise back up under that speed?

    Hi Martin,

Good question, I do not know! But do not think so. Sorry the lights are on all the time.

    Re: The Saga

See if it lowers itself when you hit highway speeds. The EAS inhibit button needs to be unlit when you do this (not pushed in). That button will make it remain at the same height it is set at, regardless of speed for the most part.

Thanks Martin will give it a try tomorrow. If it does not lower what would be the next step?

    Re: The Saga

Have you looked at the EAS Sticky yet?
New one on me I guess, as I have never ran into the lights all being lit unless there is a fault or the rig isn't running. Normally they will all light up when you turn the ignition on, but as soon as the rig is running, it will illuminate the selected height on the switch, or blink when it is on it's way up. It sounds like it knows the rig is running, as it changes height etc when you push the up and down rocker switch, or I would have suggested that.
Read through the sticky and see if anything pops up there after you check that it lowers itself at highway speed, then comes back up when under that speed. It may take a minute or two to lower etc, but it should do it.

    Re: The Saga

    Hi Martin,
Went through the sticky and from it I gather I do not haveany leaks (good). Last night I went over the heights with the EAS software andthey were all over the place measured them and reset them. As I write I pushedboth buttons on the dash (override and highway) a low and behold the Christmas treeis no longer lit and the car is at a decent height no longer at 10.000 feet.
Very strange! On Friday I will be doing for the first time1000km will see how she does and report back.

    Re: The Saga

The highway symbol is the cruise control mate. Push it in and that turns on the power to the cruise control ecm etc.
Weird that pushing the cruise and over ride made all the lights go off though!
