rave cd

hi there , have tried to download the rave cd from green oval three times now ! not very good with computer techniques . i have a acer computer with vista installed . would appreciate any help . thanks

When you click on "rave.exe" what happens?

i dont get "rave.exe" once it has downloaded . my computer opens " NTI CD/DVD maker" automatically . do you think i should download it again , and try open it with another program ?

I just had a look at the site.

Did you read the para that says:

This file is an image of the Land Rover Rave CD, if you cant read this file straight away, you need to do one of two things. Either write the image to a CD, using Nero or similar - note you need to write the image to CD, not just write the file. Or you can get hold of a program such as 'Alcohol 120%' which will create a virtual CD drive on your PC, from which the file can be read, this negates the need to write a CD.

You can also right click and open with winrar (if you have it installed) and it lists the compressed files, from where you can extract or install.

ok , downloaded winrar . tried to open . but , says " archive is either in unknown format or damaged " . is there some "dummy proof" way of downloading it ? like i said before , not too familiar with all computer termanologies . feel like downloading again , but , takes long time

It has been so long since I downloaded all of the RAVEs I completely forgot that it is an image file. Many apologies. I used Nero to burn them to discs and then copied the files to harddrive. I have the discs for backup and files on drive for regular use.

captainviv - you will have to put a blank CD in your CD tray and let your NTI? software burn it for you.

Sorry I have never used NTI (Ninja?) CD mastering software so your on your own there.

A file extension is the three letters after the dot in the file name on your hard drive.
You may not be able to see this depending on how you have your explorer "view" set.
However you should be able to right click on the file in question and click "properties"
in the drop down list that appears. That will tell you the "File Type" ie extension.

thanks Rioja Red , have copied it 3 times now with NTI . nothing appears on cd , so , broke them as not to get confused . still have about 11 blank disk left , so hopefully i dont run out ....
