    Radio Receiver YWY500170 (Sorted)

Think I may have been shafted on e-bay, bought RF Reveiver P/No. YWY 500170 arrived in L/R box bearing that number but unit inside had no part number on it just M.P.T 10739 what ever that means, also a number moulded into plastic casing of PA6GF30.
Checked the one on the truck and this did not have a part number on it either just the same numbers as the other one and was identical in every respect.
My question is dose anyone know if there is away of telling the earlier receiver from the latest one's or have I been ripped off.

    Cheers

There are photos of the inside of the new and old units available online, I will see if I can find them.

The MPT bit is something to do with radio frequencies I think. Ive seen those letters on CB radios before etc.

Time for bad feedback if they have bought a 500170 and put the old one back in the box and stuck it on the "Bay"

    Hi wills.
You were spot on my man, found the pictures you were referring to on another Land Rover forum. The unit's are identical outside but totaly different inside. Poped the casing off and yes the one I bought on e-bay is the latest type, will take a couple of photos and add to thread later just for reference in case anyone else would like to know.

    Cheers

the last pic was me! or my old rf reciever, the newest ones have a smaller pcb attached to the larger pcb on its edge!

it does seem stupid to me that even though they are different part numbers they dont put the numbers on them?????

RedRange, just to help add some detail, what Model Year is your car?
My '95 had as an original fit a Receiver with lots of discrete componants, but no Daughter Board.
Your original looked as though everything was in one big chip, so I was trying to work out which part number your original might have been, as there have been a total of 4 UK part numbers over the life of the car.

    Cheers.

Don't know if you mis-typed the part no. but that is not the number of the latest reciever for the UK market not sure about the states, are they a different frequency by any chance? might be the difference also in the UK the price is around £150.00 which would be somewhere around $280-300 dollars that is some difference in price if it's correct.
