My first range rover with some questions

Hi everyone, Just bought my first range rover hse for the wife on 2-13-12. It is a 2005 with 54k on odometer. Clean Carfax report. What was reported on it was compute module being reset and replaced about 3 times. Black on Black. I hesitated buying one after reading reviews online but the wife wanted one so bad I decieded to surprise her on Valentine's day. Went with the 05 for the BMW reliablity I read about. I have to say after driving it, it is a absolute pleasure. BUT I do have some gremlins I need answered.

1. Sometimes when you enter car you can hear a long, high pitch, annoying electronic sound from front dash.
2. recently 2 times in cold mornings.. cold California mornings lol The steering wheel is hard to turn untill it warms up
3. The navigation system will not let you get to put in a destination point and shows DVD read error
4. Light came on for 02 sensor replaced and light came back on
5. Light on dash check side light

Wow, lotta stuff! We need a few more details, like:

Loud beep from the dash is usually accompanied with a message on the instrument cluster. Have you checked the basics on the steering, like fluid level and condition? There are 4 O2 sesnors, are you sure you replaced the correct one? "Check side light" usually means the bulb is bad...have you checked it? And did you check the DVD to make sure it is the correct one and not scratched or damaged?

1. Thanks admin for moving this to the right forum, I noticed after it was in the SPORT.
2. Loud beep does not come with accompanied message. Sounds like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQgLGemGz3A except the vehicle does not have to be running, however if it is same thing turn it off than on and it goes away.
3. Shop scanned and got code, I dont know about 4 different ones, does scanner tell you which one?
4. Where is the side light? Are they the orange marker lights on side panels?

The loud noise he's talking about is probably the CPU fan squeaking.

1. CPU Fan squeaking is there a fix?
2. Got results from shop first O2 sensor was bank1 this time bank 2
3. Figured side light out, it was smaller one in headlight assembly. Tapped on it was loose
4. Anyone can tell me about the beeping noise its so annoying
5. Power steering fluid looks dirty we are changing it today
6. I hear the tranny is not recommend for service, how many of you do it anyway?

I just shot some silicone spray into the fan motor and it stopped making the noise. If you read the fine print, the tranny does require service after so many miles, I want to say 80,000 but I'm not 100%

I have an 05 as well, bought with 50K, at 60K I dropped trans pan and replaced filter and fluid. Did a fluid change again at 70K. If it were my truck, I would replace filter as soon as you can, then do a drain refill every 30K. I will replace the filter again at 90, then I am going to do drain refills every 15K, and filter at 30K. When I replaced my filter at 60K it had alot of trash in it. I am curious to see what it will look like after 20K miles, as I now have 88K on the truck. I am being a bit excessive on the 15K/30K fluid filter changes, just want to eliminate any potential trans problems if I can.
