    heppsen

Just to confirm, when I was removing my PCV there was about 6 CC of water in the tube you mention. But I think that between combustion leak by, heat ect there would be a fair amount of water vapor produced in a closed system. Just look at all the water that comes from a tailpipe. (yes i know that it's open to the elements).

    Thanks Tony for the information.

I have the exact same issue. One stupid torx screw that I have spent hours trying to get off but cant. How did you manage to get it off??

I am assuming you can't remove the Torx bolt because it has 'stripped'? This happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I changed mine - Someone had previously done a sloppy job and stripped one of the Tork heads. I was able to remove it by clamping a 9"' (approx) locking-pliers onto the head of the Torx bolt, as TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE - i.e. so tight that I could not 'close' the pliers by hand, (I had to use another locking-plier tool thing to close the 2 handles together). A firm wack with a hammer then 'cracked' the bolt loose, and I was able to use a smaller pliers to unscrew it completely. I would have replaced the Torx bolt with a normal hex-head bolt, BUT there's at least 2 bolts that cannot have a normal hex socket attached, because the design of the plastic manifold valve cover housing prevents a socket to be placed over the head of these 2 or 3 bolts. Stupid design. Anyway, I have replaced all Torx bolts with Hex bolts where possible, to prevent possible issues in future with stripped Torx heads. By the way, my system blew in a couple of places at the same time, following a very cold 2 days - where the 2 smaller hoses connect to the other parts. I'm assuming both smaller hoses had never been changed, because they both had the original hose-clamps attached, as opposed to the screw-thread hose clamps that you would normally see after a repair. Mine had 139,000 miles when it blew - I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. The good news is that I had all parts in stock, as I knew I wanted to change the whole system soon as a 'preventative' measure.....

PM me if you need some moral support....

Thanks nevill. I will PM you. I just called a local indy shop and they quoted me 400 labor to replace the intake cover. I refuse to let one bolt cost me 400 when I am so close to doing to doing it myself!
