    Interstate Batteries MTP-H8 or MTP-93

Can anyone tell me which I should purchase for '04 HSE. I believe the oem battery is starting to wear out, lights are starting to dim and starting is slower than normal. There is a size and price difference between the 2 MTP-93 $139.95, MTP-H8 $192.95. The interstate site suggest the MTP-93.

    Marc,

Get the one that is closest to the factory size, other than that, either one is fine. If you use the truck for more than traveling paved roads, and you run extra accessories or lights, I would opt for an Odyssey or Optima. One of the Die Hard Batteries was identical to the Odyssey, you may want to research that.

I sometimes run a portable fridge, so I opted for an Optima.

How much is a Genuine Part battery in the US? I think they retail here in the UK at around £110 + VAT. They have been superceded several times in the parts catalogue, perhaps due to increasing the capacity to the maximum available.

Called local Dealer, they are selling MTP-93 for $142.00, as the recommended replacement from Land Rover. The local Interstate Dealer is selling the same for $139.00. Looks like I will be stopping by the Interstate Dealer on my way home.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm pretty sure that all other batteries have been superceded to the YGD000271 110ah one now. I've replaced 2 since July and I suspect that LR is going to have a supply problem (again!) as the cold dark UK winter draws in on us. Probably worth getting the charging systems checked out ASAP while the weather is OK.
