    Average Annual Repair Cost: FFRR

Many of us talk about the repair costs for our cars and so I thought it would be interesting to put our costs down in a post so we can compare. You can do it however you want but you might consider either an average per year of ownership or a detailed break down. Feel free to share your maintenance costs also and don't forget to include your mileage and year.

    Here is mine:
    2007 RR:
    - One Year Old (this weekend)
    - 12,500 Miles
    - $0 Repairs (Warranty)
    - $1,000 tires

Cant help much, I have an 06 still under warranty about 25 months of use and 25 k miles. I did however spend 5k on the extended warranty and about 3k on accessories. What tires did you go with? I was looking to get a better off-road tire before winter.

Are you using the same tires that came with your car?!?!? 25K miles on one set? If not, you must list your costs!

I had the Pirelli Scorpians which wore extremely quickly. I now have the Continental CrossContact UHP Summer tires which came standard on the supercharged. They are very good so far (2k miles)! I am planning on getting a set of winter only tires.

I have the micheline synchrone 4x4. They were fine on road not as good off road and need replaced. Top runner at the moment is the Pirelli snow and ice to run year round. Good on and off road I hear.

Annual repair cost is something different then wearing parts, they are related to km/miles etc.
I'll come up soon with an overview of costs I've had over the last 16 months/30.000km.
I can already comment its not the cost itself, aslong you don't stick with LR service only, but the lost of time spending on driving to dealers, waiting for repairs, negociating, finding parts at lower prices etc. Believe me, for those who saw recently some changes with Tata's new ownership, LR's distribution system still focuses on buyers who still want to pay to much money for what it is; the only problem is, it is such a marvelous car
But at this moment I am triying to find a new amp as I'll be off for a trip to France for some Champagne and need some sound in the f***ing car on the road

Re: Average Annual Repair Cost: FFRR

As promised here the update on my repair and maintenance costs.
At first I tought the RR would consume hard on brakepads and tires but these are OK.
With 165000 km/100000 miles in total I believe that some repairs are normal: battery, belt tensionner and suspension bushings.
Retail partprices at LR are way to high and the distribution-service system is no good; on that level I'm sure that TATA will bring the difference.

    RR TD6 2004
    purchase price march/2007 40.000 137.000km
set wipers 36 140.000km indy diy
replacement bushings rear suspension 0 142.000km warranty visit 1
replacement left outside mirror 0 142.000km warranty
    maintenance ( was included ) 0 143.000kkm oil, filters visit 2
    replacement propshaft and spline-nut 0 150.000km LR-warranty visit 3
GPS antenna kabel 105 152.000km BMW part visit 4
ignition switch (DIY) fuse 39 blew 48 155.000km BMW part diy
    new radiator 0 160.000km warranty visit 5
new Webasto heater 0 160.000km warranty
    bearings-belt tensionner 400 162.000km LR
new water hose ( broken by LR service) 0 162.050km LR visit 6
replacement mirror computer( broken by LR service) 0 162.100km LR visit 7
new battery 360 163.000km indy diy
amplifyer 85 164.000km BMW salvage diy
    maintenance 350 166.000km LR visit 8
repair cluncking noise front suspensi 470 165.000km LR
diff enhancement program 0 ? LR visit 9
    total 1854
If LR would have repaired/changed the ignition switch, the battery, the amp and the radio fuse in the back, total dealer visits would match 13 in total!
And repair costs would have ended up arround 1900 higher.
On two occasions I hired a car, one time I had a courtesy car.

Re: Average Annual Repair Cost: FFRR

2004 RR Not sure on how much I have spent in a year haven't really kept track.
    But my repairs consisted of
2 Oil changes -> 8.95 oil filter 10 quarts synthetic oil $6 per quart
    Spark plugs -> approx $60
New brakes all the way around with porterfields pads - $380
    Transmission oil $150
    transmission filter $20

Other then basic maintanace that you perform on all cars haven't spent anything extra.
