Re: L322 - DIFF PROBLEM - INFO UPDATE!!

I just bought a 2003 RR with 24000 miles on it. The services report said 'Differential Checked' - I guess I'd need to follow that up. What should I look out for when the diff starts to go? Is this recall valid for Florida USA?

    Thanks.

I brought a 02 vogue just the other day (my first RR), I got it 20 miles up the road and the Diff exploded, so if you get the opportunity to get it replaced RR expense GET IT DONE and you will save £750 (unlike me)

I agree, the modified (final version) is a much better bet. It would be good to know when or if the replacement program runs out.

Re: L322 - DIFF PROBLEM - INFO UPDATE!!

    Hi all

Have been away for a while since letting go of my P38 but back in style with an 02 L322 3.0 TD6.

Bought from a friend who'd had her for 2 years.

Well the good news is that the Q041 Quality Assurance Programme Diff Service Action (or recall) is still alive and in force.

Mine sheared its teeth two weeks ago and after researching I made an enquiry with Land Rover main dealers, providing the VIN no and they confirmed I was covered. Not bad on a 9 yr old car with 124k thats not been near the main dealer network in years.

They werent interested in service history etc just confirmed with Land Rover.

The paperwork read nearly £500 worth of work and they even washed the car and blacked the tyres - all completely free !!!

Re: L322 - DIFF PROBLEM - INFO UPDATE!!

It's here. I check with my service rep two days ago, and she had a notice that they will be doing a recall to replace part (when they are in stock), starting in about 30 days. Not sure of the order they will be starting (you might think that they would go with the ones that already have had problems) or higher mileage/age...
Be confident,my heart will always burning .

Yep, ive been told the same thing.

I took my newly acquired 2005 into my local main dealer, who checked its history and informed me that the diff needs changing.

She said there was a back order on parts and would not be able to book me in for around 8 weeks. Im number 5 in the waiting queue

    Hello to you all

My apologies if my question is a repeat and is already posted somewhere down the line but I've only just joined the forum. Can anybody tell me when this service acion/recall expires i.e. is it still valid?

    H

Re: L322 - DIFF PROBLEM - INFO UPDATE!!

    Hi all

How would I even know if my diff needs to be replaced?
I bought my car Jan 11 from a dealer and there was no specific mention of any services performed on it. Thx

i just phoned them up and asked for any outstanding recalls and they had it on file that mine had not been done.
they change the spline fit to a fixed bolt.
I dropped mine off this morning and should have it back tomorrow

Re: L322 - DIFF PROBLEM - INFO UPDATE!!

Thanks sleeper! Called my local LR Dealer and asked for any outstanding recalls. I provided them the last 8 of my VIN and they pulled up the vehicle info. Apparently the last owner of my car already took it to a dealer to get the diff replaced.
