I'm booking a Range Rover Vogue LWB today and after much thought between Fuji White and Santorini Black, I'm going with Fuji White (I already have a Mercedes S-Class in Black). I'm not sure whether to choose the body matching White roof or the contrast Black top.
Would much appreciate your views on which looks better in the long run, especially those who have seen both in person. Urgent since the no-change date is today itself.
For me the Sport looks better with the black contrast roof and the full size with body colored as it's the classic "floating roof" look, at least that's how I would order each.
Or switch back to black and you won't have this dilemma any more.
Some colors look better with a contrasting roof...my silver looks great with a black roof...and I have seen a blue and a black with silver roofs....Not sure if the white WITHOUT the black pack would look good with the black roof....the online configurator will show you what it looks like...
Timezones aren't cool, I think I'm late. I had a '14 Fuji White with black contrast roof. Here are some pictures - if not you, maybe some future reader. Either way, I just LOVE the black contrast roof.
Hey thanks everyone for the responses so far. By the way I'm booking the car tomorrow and have another 15 days to change the configuration. So please let the opinions flow, they really help.
So far I'm leaning towards the body matching roof (white on white), although I haven't seen it in person. I saw a fuji white with black roof and felt its missing the white roof.
As for the Fuji white itself, I think the black (maybe Santorini black) looks better but given that I live in India, with all the traffic and weather conditions, it might be nice to have a white car for a change (I have an E-class and the new S-class both in Black already).
I would go with the body matching option as I think in the long run it still the classic look. But what you can do is just get a wrap on the roof to make it black...and when you get bored you just peel it off. Never looked into how hard it would be for someone to wrap the roof, but I have done this on my Audi R8 (whole car is silver with black side blades) and I wrapped the top black to give it the contrast. Have had it on almost 2 years now and it shows no signs of wear.
If you do this, you can get the best of both worlds!!!! and have it be reversible......
I have the Fuji White and wanted to have a black top. I might have the top wrapped that way if I get bored with it I can easily remove it! Just my 2 cents worth.
I recommend two tone as well. My Range Rover has the "Yukon" paint scheme, (mostly) grey at the bottom and British racing green on top. Also, the back is kept in Yukon grey

Finally! I've placed an order with body matching roof (white) yesterday. Expected in 4 months. For those interested, the range rover costs 3 times as much here in India compared to the US/UK. Guess I'm paying more for the import duty/taxes rather than the car. Just the way it is. :?
Congrats on the order. At the end of the day it is your vehicle. You couldn't go wrong either way.
Amazing that Tata, or any domestic company importing their own property, doesn't somehow have a deal where the taxes, import fees are different than just say a GM or BMW.
Sport (and Evoque) look great with black roof. However, the full size (L405) does not look good in my opinion with the black roof. It cheapens the look of the car if you ask me...
I much prefer the body colored roof on the full size RR

My thoughts exactly. Hence my decision to go with body colored roof.
I see that you have had Range Rover's in the past in White / Black / Yulong white (Twice). Would love to hear your thoughts on each of these colours and which one finally for a first timer like me.
Now that a few years have passed and the silver contrast roof is no longer an option, does anyone regret having the silver roof? I am considering a '16 RR full size, in blue with the silver roof, but I am not sure if the color combination will look good in a few years?!? The interior is almond which looks classic and matches great with the Loire Blue but I am just not sure about the roof... thoughts???
The silver roof is a really nice option. My truck is santarioni black and I am going to wrap my L405 roof in matte silver to match the exterior atlas silver bits. I also have the autobiography handles with the silver, the SVA front and side bits in silver and have atlas silver mirror caps coming in soon as well.
I feel the blacked out look is played out.
Blue on silver is a great combination. A while back I was looking at a RR sport with that blue, almond inside and silver roof. If you do the mirror caps in silver and the side vents in silver it will tie it all up together nicely.

I have a full size SC and wish I had the contrast roof. Thinking about getting it wrapped. I will second Yulong white. Very pleased I chose Yulong over Fuji. Its subtle but you can clearly see the difference when parked next to one another. Much more depth in the color.
a contrasting roof is a personal decision. As we can see, everybody has a differing opinion. Mine is full Fiji but if I wanted to do something, I might have the roof wrapped in silver. Blue with silver roof was a close second but couldnt find one that didnt have the Carfax from hell.
