    LWB with 22s or 21s

Hi. My autobiography is coming feb 5 th. with 21s. But another dealer has one coming in next week with 22s whichever can't not give with with 21s. Obviously salesperson tells me 22s are way better. Never driven with 22s but read here on forum that 22s are harsh ride. But maybe it's different with LWB as it's longer. Anyone with LWB with 22s feel it's good or if had the opportunity again to put 21s they would do it. Thanks.

Wheelbase has absolutely no effect on rubber band tires. No sidewall is no sidewall obviously.
So expect the same issues as anyone else that put 22's on their rig, regardless of wheelbase.

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

I have the 22's on our RR SWB and I recently drove one with 21's and the difference was marginal. Sure, if you are looking for it you may notice a minimal difference but in my humble opinion, the look of 22's is well worth the slight (if any) compromise. This is a HUGE car, I think 22's are a must on a vehicle of this size. If you were comparing 20s to 22s, obviously the difference is greater but still worth it in my opinion.I

If I were you, I would see this other RR with the 22s as a blessing in disguise

I Just took in my 2017 LWB with 21s and decided to swap them out for 22'. While I love the way the 22' looks, the ride is kinda rough and noisy. Not what I would expect from a 125K vehicle. I will be taking my car back to the dealership this Tuesday for them to inspect. I'll let you know what that say.

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

Price of the vehicle has absolutely nothing to do with sticking larger wheels on it and compromising the ride. I seriously doubt there is anything to inspect. It all boils down to your choice to remove even more of the buffer between your fanny and the pavement.

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

    "Marginal". "Minimal".
So there is a difference......Again, obviously.
I can't see it being a deciding factor of "cool" myself. 1 inch of extra rim is what is "marginal" and "minimal". The ride is the ride.
Of course it will ride worse, and I for one can never understand people forsaking ride quality for an extra inch of rim. Unless you want to appear on one of those car shows that cares about such things......

I have 22s on new one and had 20s on old one

Not a big difference, and I drive brick roads every day

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

I have 19's on my L322 and ordered 20's on the L405...in NY / NJ the roads are horrible and potholes a way of life...the extra sidewall makes the ride smooth and relatively worry free when I hit a pothole....in fact I may keep my 19" rims with Nokian H2's on them for the L405 during winter time...

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

Go for 22 inch. I didn't like 21 inch ride, too buttery....22 has perfect ride!

Note that 22" ATB/supercharged from factory have higher top speed (155mph) vs 21" and below (138mph)...just saying...

If you'll be doing hardcore off-roading/pot-holing, go for 21".

I have TWO sets of 22 inch wheels - one for summer and one for winter - they look so much better

Again that is a matter of personal opinion. There certainly is no "better" or "best" involved in size opinions.

Re: LWB with 22s or 21s

    ROFL.
So the 21's are too "buttery", which I can only equate to comfortable.
The 21's are "only" rated for 138mph. Who does that on a public road in the USA???? Someone who is too stupid to go to a track, and too inexperienced to be safe. Just saying......
And the rest is looks, which is a personal opinion, not an understanding that the sidewall is part of the whole vehicle suspension.
Pretty bad when it comes to trying to justify wheel size, by the speed rating... Again, just saying.....

And seeing how the OP is in Canada, that has what to do with this thread?

Wheel size, style, etc will always be a personal choice. It is a matter of fact though, that less sidewall means less cushion.
Thus the ride will always be harsher with the larger diameter wheel/smaller sidewall ratio.
