    1st-2nd Shift Engine Delay?

Has anyone noticed this little delay when the Evoque is shifting between 1st and 2nd? Torque converter kicking in? Turbo lag during the off-throttle shift? It's like a little "bog" after the shift has taken place. I have never had that in any car I've ever owned.

I would think that if LR found a way to stop that little lag, you could gain a few tenths of a second.

I noticed it right away. It takes off really quickly, then it does that, but it doesn't affect speed terribly, it just sounds weird.

I just went for a ride. When you have it floored, it really doesn't do that at all...

    Re: 1st-2nd Shift Engine Delay?

I've only got about 130 miles on my Evoque and I could be all wet but I think, emphasis think, that unless you are in sport and select first gear after you stop the car, it is starting out in second gear or some type of a modified first gear for fuel economy purposes. I know I've had numerous cars that do this. Again, I could be wrong?
