SALMON CREEK RANCH
Over the years, RangeRovers.net has developed into a community of Range Rover enthusiasts who participate together in many ways in mutual support. RangeRovers.net and its forums are very much international, with members spread all around the world. On occasion groups of our members meet up for trail runs, camping and just placing a face with a screen name.
In 2009 one of our major site contributors and long term member, Ron Becket, paid a visit to the United States. His month long tour of Washington, Oregon and California made for a great opportunity to plan a RangeRovers.net get-together for any readers, members or enthusiasts who could make it.
The gathering was held by our founder John Brabyn at RangeRovers.net HQ, Salmon Creek Ranch in Bodega Bay, California. This scenic working ranch includes ducks, goats and bees dwelling amidst scenic pasture and forest areas that are accessed by miles of ranch roads and logging trails of varying difficulty, with many impassable at certain times of year. The ranch has historical value for Land Rover enthusiasts due to hosting the 1999 Land Rover Trek. The 2009 get-together was attended by several RangeRovers.net readers as well as forum administrators, moderators and members. Some of the attendees included Ron Beckett, retired forum administrator who flew in from Sydney, Australia. Carl Christy, site administrator drove down from Seattle. Umberto Bonfante, forum administrator drove up from Los Angeles. Dan Czarniak, retired moderator, flew in from Atlanta. Retired moderator Granville Poole joined us from his local ranch. Below are a few photos from the weekend's events.
